Stone Church Arts and Immanuel Retreat Center is a nonprofit arts program and retreat and conference center in a Vermont village. Stone Church ARts was foundedby Eugene Friesen, Rev. Margaret Crane and Rovert McBride in 2004 "to bring the world to Bellows Falls" by offering musical events featuring musicians and music from around the globe. Immanuel Retreat Center was started by Gloria Mansfield and organizations present programs in the arts, but Immanuel Retreat Center also presents workshops, retreats, and films.
We are affiliated with Immanuel Episcopal Church but governed by a separate Board. The Board unites the arts program and the retreat center in one organization though they retain their separate names, missions and goals. They co-present workshops such as the Festival of Mandolin Chamber usic which takes place in January and June each year. Summer events include workshopes for musicians offered by our Artistic Director, cellist Eugene Friesen, including his Vermont Improv Intensive. We operate yearround, presenting programs in music and spirituality and renting our facilities to non-profit and other groups.
